About these terms
These terms apply to every journey you book with Data Yorkshire Ltd (company number 07670950, 24 Corn Market, Pontefract, WF8 1BJ), whether you book by phone, by email or in the Data Yorkshire app. By booking, you agree to them. They don't affect your legal rights as a consumer.
Booking
- Please give us the right pick-up and drop-off addresses, time and number of passengers, and check your booking confirmation. We can't be responsible for delays caused by incorrect details.
- Every passenger counts, including children and babies. Tell us how much luggage you have so we can send the right size of car.
- For airport and station runs, allow enough time for check-in and for traffic. We'll do our best, but we can't be responsible if a booking doesn't leave enough time.
- Let us know when you book if you need a wheelchair-accessible car. Assistance dogs are always welcome, at no extra charge.
- Please be ready at the booked time. If our driver has to wait, we may charge for waiting.
Prices and payment
- We'll tell you the price or the expected fare when you book. Prices include VAT where it applies.
- The price may change if the journey changes, for example extra stops, a different destination, or waiting time.
- You can pay by cash, by card or in the app. We never add a surcharge for paying by card.
Cancelling
If your plans change, let us know as soon as you can so we can free up the car for someone else. We don't charge for cancelling.
On the journey
- No smoking or vaping in our cars, and no eating or drinking.
- The person who made the booking is responsible for the behaviour of everyone in their group.
- If a passenger soils the car, we'll charge £50 towards cleaning, because the car can't work until it's clean.
- Everyone must wear a seatbelt where one is fitted.
- We won't carry more passengers than the car is licensed and insured for.
Children and child seats
We don't supply child seats. You're welcome to bring and fit your own, and on a return journey our driver can keep it safe for you. There are special rules for children travelling in licensed taxis and private hire cars. You'll find them on GOV.UK.
Refusing or ending a journey
Our drivers' safety comes first. We can refuse a booking, or end a journey as soon as it's safe to stop, if anyone in the car is violent, abusive or puts the driver, the car or other people at risk. If that happens, the fare for the journey so far is still due and we won't give a refund.
Luggage and lost property
Please keep an eye on your belongings and check the car before you get out. If you leave something behind, ring us on 01977 600680 and we'll do our best to get it back to you.
Our responsibility to you
- We'll do our best to get you to your destination on time, but we aren't responsible for delays caused by things outside our control, such as traffic, road closures, accidents or severe weather.
- If something outside our control means we can't provide a journey, we'll tell you as soon as we can and refund anything you've paid for it. If a car breaks down, we'll arrange another car to finish the journey as soon as we can.
- If you're booking for a business, we aren't liable for loss of profit, loss of business or indirect losses.
- Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.
